Grievance Redressal Cell

To assure dignity and human rights is necessary for all-round development of an individual’s personality. Academic progress can only happen in an environment where an individual is assured of justice and fairness. In compliance with UGC and AICTE directives, COMMUNITY INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES has constituted a Grievance Redressal Cell. The Cell aims to understand and rectify the grievances of students and parents.

The Grievance Redressal Cell aims to look into the complaints lodged by any student and redress it as per requirement. The students can state their grievance regarding any academic and non-academic matter within the campus through online and grievance suggestion box. The institution aims at solving the grievances of the students within stipulated time frame.

Objectives

The main objective of the Cell is to ensure an approachable and responsible attitude among the staff towards the students and to uphold harmony on the campus. In this context, the objectives of the Cell are:

  • Upholding the dignity of the College by ensuring a strife-free atmosphere in the College through promoting cordial Student-Student relationships and Student-teacher relationships.
  • Supporting and encouraging the students to express their grievances/problems freely and frankly, without any fear of being victimized, and solving them in a fair manner.
  • To ensure that students of the College respect the right and dignity of one another and show utmost restraint and patience whenever any occasion of rift arises.
Scope

The students may lodge grievances about any academic and non-academic matters within the campus through online and offline modes, related to:

  • Timely issue of duplicate Mark-sheets, Transfer Certificates, Conduct Certificates, or other examination and scholarship related matters.
  • Dues and payments for various items from the library, hostels, and other financial matters.
  • Concerns about conditions of sanitation, drinking water, food preparation, transport availability, victimization by teachers, and any other offensive activities.
Mechanism
Offline:

The complaint forms are made available with the Convenor of the Cell. Aggrieved parties have to fill the complaint form and submit it along with necessary supporting documents (if any) for further action and redressal.

Online:

Students may express their concerns online by filling out the form available on the college website. Grievances can also be registered by writing an email to cimsgrievance@gmail.com.

Redressal Procedure
  1. The Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) shall consider only individual grievances of specific nature from students.
  2. Upon receipt of the complaint/application, the committee will decide on the merit of the case regarding scope for further discussion, investigation, and prompt action.
  3. The GRC may mediate between complainant and defendant against whom the complaint has been made, if required.
  4. The GRC shall address grievances within a reasonable time frame.
  5. The cell will report cases addressed to the authority and seek guidance from higher authorities if necessary.
